Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Playing Catch Up...The rest of August

In an effort to make the last day of summer special, we made one final summer trip to Legoland. A lot of the other schools had already returned to school so it was very nice to be there and let the boys play when it was not so crowded. Most of my pictures came out blurry but here a few of the better ones.

Then, it was time for Ethan's first, first day of school at Duncan Creek Academy.
I'll explain more about the first, first day in a later post. We were super excited to be in the same class with some of our neighborhood friends!

Now this...this had to be documented
It may not look like much but if you live in our house or hear us talk about our crazy life, you will know that these two very active, very impulsive, very antagonistic brothers NEVER sit side by side without bugging each other and NEVER read books unless it is bedtime or they ask for Mommy or Daddy to read to them during the day. We were blown away and thoroughly enjoyed watching this short-lived event.

The Random Dog
One day, while playing at the park this dog came up to us. He had no leash and no owner appeared to be looking for him. Since he was a larger dog, he was scaring most of the mommies with young children. So, we headed over to the dog park to see if maybe he had gotten away from his owner there. Nope, no one there was looking for him so one of the ladies gave me a spare leash and it was up to us to figure it out. I put him in the cargo area at the back of my car and within seconds he was riding beside me happy as a lark. After a trip to a vet that did not recognize him and finding out he was not microchipped, checking out several lost pet websites, and a trip to the closed animal shelter (really, closed on a week day...what do people do that find dogs on Mondays), we finally found someone at the shelter who very unhappily opened the doors so that we could take him in. I was kind of sad to see him go but the nice(not) gentleman that checked him in at the shelter assured me that he would find a home quickly of they could not locate his owner.
What a day!

Ben's 20 year Reunion
Yep, we are that old. It definitely sounds old to be talking about a 20 year reunion. Either way, it happened and we went. Mine is scheduled for next summer and we have already begun planning for it. Wow, we are old.
