Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Traveling boys

Loving driving the race car buggy at Lowe's...a place that Mommy and Daddy have been frequenting a lot here lately. I can't believe that my baby is big enough to sit next to big brother!

Ethan's favorite mode of traveling around the house when Mommy and Daddy are not looking. Fortunately, little brother doesn't seem to mind and is somehow strong enough to pull him. SShhhh, don't tell anyone that we have a walker.

Ethan loves driving the cars at the mall, which is one of our favorite new Sunday afternoon places to visit. The best thing is that it's free! He has been completely happy driving them just the way they are UNTIL Mimi showed him that if you put money in them, they are A LOT more fun. Thanks Mimi :-)

First trip to the Circus

The group minus photographer Daddy

He was a little intimidated at first and felt most comfortable on Daddy's shoulders

Waving at the elephants

Sweetness!

Giggles and grins

Love this look on his face...Totally into the elephants and tigers! By far, his favorite time of the night. He clapped every time he saw them.

Oh yes, it lights up and spins!

Home School...not so much

Today's activity was to identify the letters of the alphabet and glue the matching letter on top of the letter on the page. He loved using the glue and I had his undivided attention for about 4 1/2 minutes!

Randomness

As I was downloading pictures from my phone to the computer, I found a few that I couldn't resist posting. Isn't this just the cutest face ever???

Daddy and Ethan in the excavator that sat in front of our house for days during round 2 of sewer line replacement. Ethan was fascinated watching them dig up the yard!

Valentine's Day

I love that Ethan is old enough now to really get into holidays! I didn't want to make a huge ordeal out of Valentine's Day but I did want to celebrate in a small way. We got each boy a couple of small trinkets and a balloon bouquet. Ethan's balloons were waiting outside his bedroom door when he woke up this morning. He loves balloons so I knew this would be a hit!

Before the boys were up, I made it downstairs to make some heart-shaped pancakes. Unfortunately, these turned out a little darker than the rest of the batch.

Caden even had some baby pancakes waiting for him...not that he ate them. He had a great time smooshing them and throwing them on the floor for Lucy, though.

Yummy!

The Good, the Bad, the Ugly...the move

I think that I am just now processing...

The Good

1) A neighborhood full of children
2) A Mother's Morning Out program that is ABSOLUTELY amazing!
3) A Sunday school that when Ethan leaves he says "Can we go to more church?"
4) Being able to see our family regularly
5) A house that feels warm and cozy
6) Having a basement!!!

The Bad
1) Spending extreme $$ replacing sewer lines the week after we bought the house
2) Having hay for a front yard due to said sewer lines
3) Ethan asking to go see his Texas friends, then stopping to say "no, they are too far away"
4) Missing our Texas family
5) Mommy and Daddy not loving the new church quite as much as our old church

The Ugly
Not figuring out a schedule that is conducive to working out!

Naptime Shenanigans

My apologies for the poor picture quality, but this was too cute!

I had just put Ethan down for his nap this afternoon and was about to put Caden down when I realized that Ethan had gotten out of his bed and was laying on the floor behind his door. Caden crawled straight to his door and sat in front of it "talking" to him. If you look carefully, you can see Ethan's hand just barely showing under the door. I'm so disappointed that I didn't catch the picture of Caden touching his hand, but it was precious to watch them.
