Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Caden's First Day of School

The Tuesday after Labor Day was Caden's first day of school and for the first time ever, he was excited to go to school! He has watched Ethan get up and get ready for school for the last month and he hasn't gotten to go so now that it's finally time for him, he's ready. I am so thankful for that, I think this is going to be a huge year for him! Ethan has always had a love of learning but Caden would much, much, much rather play than learn. I also think Caden is excited because he wants to be just like his brother and it just so happens that Ms. Janice and Ms. Tamara were Ethan's teachers as well.

We took our 1st Day picture before we left for school and had our flowers for Ms. Janice and Ms. Tamara ready.
I made another attempt when we got to school and I can't believe how grown up he looks in this picture. He's too cool to even look at the camera.
We are definitely in the back to school routine around here and Caden is doing great! I love picking him up in the afternoons and hearing him talk about his day :-)

Labor Day Weekend

I have no pictures for this post and I have delayed putting it up because I was hoping my phone was repairable. The weekend after we went camping was Labor Day weekend and we had a great time! Mimi, Uncle Chad, Aunt Ashley, and Collier came into town and we spent the weekend hanging out and playing in the pool.

Both the little boys AND the big boys spent the weekend competing for the best jumps, cannonballs, and flips and all of it was recorded on my phone. Unfortunately at the end of the weekend, my phone also took a swim. I did the whole rice thing and the bake it at a low temp thing but no success. Then I took it to the gadget guy and he couldn't fix it either so it's done :-( Truly, if I could only get the pictures off of it, I would be a happy camper! But even the gadget guy said it was a No Go....

So...there's a wonderfully documented weekend of great family time that is forever lost :-(
