Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Beach Pictures 2013

I can't think of a better way to end 2013 than with some of my favorite pictures of my favorite people from our favorite memory making experience of the year. Here are some pictures from the photo shoot at the beach in September...

There were several good ones of these little guys

Love this one of these two!
And I always love seeing the three of them together!
I also love this one of Mimi and Ethan
The two of us
(Sorry, I can't help the tan lines from a week spent in the sun :-)
Rewind to 2001 and this is a very similar picture in the exact same spot to the one above
Love, love, love this one of Mom
 The three of us
Mom, Chad, and myself
 Brother and sister
All of us
And my favorites of Chad and Ashley...I wonder if there were ever days where we were as photogenic as they are :-)

Here's to a happy and healthy 2014!

Here Comes Santa Claus, Here Comes Santa Claus

We spent a wonderful Christmas Eve at home!
We started the morning with pancakes, then made cookies for Santa, decorated our gingerbread village, and made a birthday cake for Jesus. We listened to Christmas music, watched Christmas movies, and played. Mommy even got a few things prepped for our Christmas Day dinner.

Sadly, Ethan was running a fever but it didn't slow him down. After some wonderfully long naps and dinner, Caden had a bath and Ethan showered. Then they put on their Christmas PJ's and we loaded up for one final night of riding around to look at Christmas lights before bedtime.
Snuggled in with his Lightning McQueen blanket, Ethan was not game for a picture in the car. The flash was too bright for him :-)
Take 1...
 Take 2...
 Take 3...
You can tell he doesn't feel well in this picture, but finally...
Then, got this little guy on the first try...
After getting all tucked into bed and a good night's sleep, they were ready to see what Santa left for them.
Santa must have liked our milk and cookies. The boys wanted to leave 6 of them for his stop at our house.
First, they checked out what Santa left under the tree in the playroom. Ethan immediately knew that the big airplane was for Caden and passed it to him. With stockings stuffed full of goodies, a Batcave for Ethan, and a huge Hot Wheels city for their cars they must have been on Santa's nice list this year!
Then we moved into the living room to check out what Mommy and Daddy got for them.
Ethan is excited about his military truck and helicopter lego set. As soon as we were finished, Daddy immediately had to help him put it together!
And Caden was precious lining up all of his gifts on the couch as he unwrapped them
Then back to the playroom for stockings as they were overlooked in their excitement
 Yo-yo-ing
 Daddy testing out the tambourine
 Ethan testing out his drums
Testing out the scooters with our Dusty Crophopper helmets from Mimi
By midmorning, Caden was running a full blown temp. and complaining of a stomachache. We snuggled on the couch with a few of our new learning toys and watched Christmas movies then he took an early nap. By the time he woke up, his temp. was 103.5 but fortunately after meds kicked in he felt well enough to play for a bit and for us to sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles on Jesus' birthday cake.
It stinks having sick kiddos on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but we truly are blessed. There is so much to be thankful for that I oftentimes take for granted; from our salvation to the overall health of ourselves and our loved ones, a warm, cozy home and hot food to eat. Sadly, I know that there are many that do not have these this holiday season or any other day and would most likely remember to show much more appreciation for the blessings God has provided us. Thank you Lord for your abundant provision.

Christmas at Mimi's

We spent last weekend at Mimi's celebrating with my family. Thankfully, Mimi had been in Georgia a couple of days prior to our trip so when she left she took the boys with her. They got some awesome Mimi time and Mommy and Daddy got an awesome date night!
Christmas is the one time of the year that we always try to do family pictures. Everyone is together and dressed up...at least long enough to take a picture :-)

Our family
 Mimi and the boys
 Uncle Chad and Aunt Ashley
 MawMaw and Zeke
MawMaw and Mom (AKA Mimi)
 Chad, Mom, and me
The whole family...gotta love the timer and a ladder
 Time for presents!

 Love these! Glide bikes!

You did know that the box is just as exciting to play with as the gift, right???
Uncle Chad put the monster truck track together while the boys anxiously watched
and Daddy played background music
Believe it or not, the adults did exchange gifts, too, and everyone received wonderful presents. A great Christmas was had by all and we are looking ahead to an exciting 2014!
