Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

This weekend we had our neighborhood Easter egg hunt. I tried to get a quick picture of Ethan and his friend, Ashley, before the hunt began but neither were too interested. They both gave me their "cheese" smile while they stared at the big event that was about to begin!

Look! There is something inside it!

Once I realized that Ethan was more interested in what was in the eggs than the egg hunt itself, we quickly filled our basket and headed over to take a picture with sweet Sadie. Unfortunately, neither one of them were interested in looking at me, either.

While big brother participated in the egg hunt, Caden hung out and ate Cheerios. By the time this picture was taken, he had just about had enough of sitting in the stroller!

Of course, we couldn't take a trip to the park without playing on the playground...even if we did have a basket full of candy (that Mommy politely gave away before we left and he hasn't asked about it one time).

Spring Show

This week was Ethan's Spring Show at Shadowbrook. We were so excited because Daddy took the day off work to go and Mimi spent an extra long weekend with us so that she could attend, too! This was his 3rd show for the year, but the first one that was not in the church sanctuary. It was held in the Family Life Center and the children performed in a circle in the center while the parents "picnicked" on blankets in front of them. It was TERRIFIC! With Caden being so active these days, it was awesome to be able to bring toys and snacks to entertain him while he could move around on our blanket. He has learned how to make the sputtering sound and this pic was caught mid-sputter!

The amazing Miss Connie trying to contain him to his spot in the circle.

Big Boy after the show

This quick 30 second video was taken toward the end of the program and he was actually doing exactly what he was supposed to do(minus singing the parts of the song that were of no interest to him except for the sounds) without running out of the circle and yelling at Mommy, Daddy, Caden, and Mimi! His poor little classmates don't know what to think.

New Friends

Last week while we were outside playing with our neighborhood friends Ethan and his friend, Ashley, climbed up on the big rock in our neighbor's yard(a favorite place to hang out) to watch the lawn service mow the yard across the street. Ashley is very affectionate ;-) I love that Ethan has new friends his age, but we still miss our Texas friends, too.
