Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Christmas at Shadowbrook

Last Wednesday we celebrated Christmas at Shadowbrook with their annual program and classroom parties. It was great seeing both boys up there together! Ethan was full of his usual personality but thankfully toned it down for this program. Mommy, Daddy, and Mimi all talked to him beforehand about singing the songs nicely and trying not to yell out when he was on stage. And while there were a few sweet instances where he called out to us, he was much more tame than he has been in every other program he has participated in.

Waving to us when he came on stage

Sitting nicely...total shock for Mommy!

And the Ethan that we expect :-)

He actually participated in the hand motions, too!

Sweet Caden sitting right center of the stage

And precious Ms. Mary holding him in her lap when
he turned around and reached out to her

After the program, the students returned to their classrooms for parties!!! So thankful that Mimi came! Daddy was able to visit each of the boys in their classrooms for a few minutes but then had to go back to work so Mimi and I tag-teamed both parties :-)

Caden's Party

High-fiving Daddy before he had to leave

Making a paper plate wreath with bingo stampers...what a great idea!

And of course, decorating a sugar cookie

Not a crumb left, this boy likes his cookies!

Catching a moment with Daddy before he had to leave
Ethan after his cupcake...again, not a crumb left.
Can you tell Mommy doesn't allow sweets too often???

 Story time

Book exchange

Love, love, love the excitement on his face!

After Ethan's party, we went back to Caden's room and this was our best attempt at a picture of the boys together...One day it WILL happen
