Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Stone Mountain

A few times a year we usually try to visit Stone Mountain and see the laser show. The laser show has been a part of the park's entertainment for as long as I can remember. My first time to see the show was when I was a little girl, we came from Alabama with my grandparents to visit Atlanta and took the gondola to the top, rode the train around the mountain, and watched the laser show in the evening.  Although we have had season passes to the park in the past, this was the boy' first trip this year. And even though they have each seen the show several times since we have moved back home, our last attempt to see the laser show ended with me taking Ethan around the park while Mimi, Daddy, and Caden watched the show. He was NOT a fan of the fireworks and the loud music. He's grown a lot since then so we decided to make another attempt.

Unfortunately, a few days before we planned to go to the park, Lucy had to have surgery to remove a tumor on her paw. Since she couldn't go with us, she stayed home. She had a cone to keep her from picking at her stitches but I felt so bad putting it on her. She hadn't really messed with them a lot when it wasn't on her so I decided to leave her home without it...boy was that a bad idea.
Either way, we got to the park super early and picked out our spot. Ben and Ethan tossed the football and played while Caden and I walked over to get dinner for us. Then we ate and the boys climbed the rocks and played with some of the bubble toys we had brought until it was time for the show.
Once it was dark, the show began. Caden was all smiles and having the greatest time
but Ethan was too cool for pictures ;-)
The laser show is set to music and has fireworks that accompany it. The boys loved it! Thankfully, this time around everyone had a great time so we can finally put this one back on our activity list!
