Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

The Boys

Ethan is fascinated with Caden's things. Yesterday he decided to lay his head on the Boppy pillow and use the Bumbo as his ottoman. This boy is hilarious!

Since we have been taking so many pictures, he has been interested in the camera, too. This is what happens when he has it.
Below is a video of Caden NOT rolling over! This morning, I laid Caden on his tummy and ran to give Ethan his medicine...ear infection :-( When I returned, Caden was on his back. I TOTALLY MISSED IT!!! He has been trying to roll over the last couple of weeks, but has not been successful. So a very disappointed Mommy immediately rolled him back over and ran to get the camera. After 30 minutes of coaxing and recording, there was NO MORE rolling over. I did, however, capture a conversation that Ethan had with Caden. Ethan is telling "Cate"(Ethan's nickname for Caden when he's happy with him) to press the button on his toy and it will play "E, I, E, I, Ote"(you and I know this song as Old MacDonald Has a Farm). Unfortunately, the toy plays 3 different songs and when Ethan showed Caden how to press the button, it played Hickory, Dickory, Dock. Ethan didn't seem to mind, though. Mommy did have to remind him not to touch brother's head. He usually does it with gritted teeth and can be a little rough :-)

A Laid-Back Wednesday

This morning we set out for a short visit to the spray park with sweet friends.

While Ethan played, Caden hung out and made cute faces. This is the happiest little boy a Mommy could ask for! After baths and naptime we got out the train set and while Ethan and I played, Caden scooted himself completely off of his floor gym to be right next to us! So sweet!!!

Ethan's 2nd Birthday

While Mommy did the last minute preparations for Ethan's Construction birthday party at the spray park, Daddy was busy putting together his big boy present!

It was waiting for him when he woke up the next morning. I love his excitement!
After the birthday party, he got to take it for a spin around the yard. He had to put his dump truck birthday balloon in the jeep so that it could ride around with him. He's got the gas pedal down pat, but we're still working on steering. Mimi was a wonderful cheerleader the whole time!

Mimi's presents for the birthday boy...she doesn't spoil him at all!!!

Just splashin' around before eating lunch at the party After everyone played, we had lunch under the pavilion

As always, Ms. Kristin was wonderful and put everyone's name on their hard hat. Ethan had fun playing with his!

Once lunch was finished, we changed into our birthday outfit for the smash cake and cupcakes.

His bulldozer smash cake!

The birthday boy blowing out his candle...with a little help from Mommy and Mimi.

Baby Caden was perfect the entire party!! He was either napping in the stroller or getting some love from Mimi or Aunt Ashley.

After the party and naptime, he changed into his bulldozer outfit and headed outside to play with the bulldozer excavator that Uncle Chad and Aunt Ashley got for him.

What a day! Even though he went to bed on time, this poor child was so wound up from the excitement of the day that at 10:15 we still saw little eyes in the monitor!

We love you Ethan and couldn't imagine our lives without you! The joy you give us each day is beyond anything I could have ever dreamed possible!

Just another Friday

Before heading to the park this morning, we tried giving brother some time in the Bumbo seat. Ethan thought it was hilarious to see brother sitting up!

Look at this chubby little face!

Then we headed out to play in the sand with our precious Ms. Kristin and sweet friends, Ava and Aubrey.

A lazy afternoon

Ethan can't get enough of his baby brother!

We are a Word World watching family!! Even at 9 weeks, Caden is fascinated!
Pay no attention to the mismatched outfit, but I think this is an adorable picture! He was trying lay down just like Caden was laying on his floor mat.
This isn't the best picture, but I caught him laughing!

We're growing up, he grabbed his toy!!!!

Wet Fun

Yesterday we met some church friends at Harry Myers. This was our 2nd trip to the spray park this season, but the first that I had both boys by myself. After Ethan ran away and I chased him down the hill toward the lake twice, we packed up and left. Today we attempted to go again and this time we met Ethan's best buddy, Keller(AKA "Kecker"), there. He only ran off once today...not that this is acceptable either, but at least it's an improvement :-) Yesterday he barely got wet and was intimidated by the water, but today...

Rangers Game

Last weekend, Ben and Ethan went to see the Rangers play! Last year we took Ethan to his first game but he was too young to realize what was going on. This time he and Daddy had a great time with wonderful friends!
