Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Easter

We spent Easter at Mimi's house and were so thankful to have some time to spend with her. The boys started Saturday morning with a little egg dying.
Then they took turns telling us the story of Jesus' death and resurrection through 12 filled Easter eggs and decorated Faith cookies.
The rest of the day was spent playing outside, washing Mimi's convertible, grilling hamburgers and hot dogs followed by a picnic dinner on the deck. It was an amazingly relaxing day! That night, the Easter Bunny came and left a few treats for the boys.
After breakfast, we headed to church then came back to Mimi's for Easter dinner. MawMaw, Chad, Ashley, Caroline, and Collier met us at the house for lunch. But before we ate, we had a little photo shoot.

Then Bo decided he couldn't be left out, either :-)

After lunch, it was time for the Easter egg hunt! Collier was ready and I had a basket just her size! She did a great job finding eggs and was so excited to find "moneys" inside :-)
Ethan and Caden were quick finding all of their eggs, too
 An successful egg hunt picture!
Until next year!

Skyzone

We returned from a fabulous Spring Break and had one weekday left! It was nice to have the Friday before to get our vacation started early. The boys and I decided to spend our last day at Skyzone. It had been a long time since we had been so they were excited!
First, some jumping...

 Then some cage ball
 Followed by a few hoops
And some time in the block pit
Before we left, Ethan tried dodgeball
We had a great time at Skyzone and the boys were definitely worn out! What a fantastic ending to a wonderful Spring Break!

Spring Break Day 5 - US Army Transportation Museum

Our last day in Virginia started after a lazy morning recovering from our previous day's whirlwind trip to D.C. We got to spend a little time with Morgan, then packed up and headed to the US Army Transportation Museum at Fort Eustis before getting on the road to Charlotte, where we were staying for the night.
This museum was probably the best museum we have ever been to! It chronicled the military through EVERY form of transportation imaginable!
Dating all the way back to horse and buggy days,

By air...
Land...
And sea.
As well as amphibious vehicle, the super DUKW :-)
A VERY interesting Korean war handkerchief left with wounded soldiers
The museum even documented the Army's experimental flying endeavors that Carson and Caden got a big kick out of!
These were indestructible trucks that were part of the Hardened Convoy Concept. Each unit "designed" their own truck
There was a ton to see inside before we headed outside where there seemed to be just as much! Beginning with the military railway
Carson was fantastic and both boys LOVED having him around for our adventures!
We saw tons of boats,
tanks,
helicopters,
and military trucks of all types!
Recruitment and Re-enlistment Truck
Then we moved on to experiemental vehicles....
the Cybernetic Walker, similar to a space walker
Vertical Lift Airplane
Hover Car
The boys were excited to see a Crane chopper because they had learned about it on Mighty Machines
And they thought it was funny that even a forklift in the military is painted camouflage
What an amazing way to learn about the history of our military! We had a terrific time! Once we left the museum, we visited Jesse at his post on base before saying our goodbyes. This was the best Spring Break trip ever! We experienced so many new things that our kiddos will forever have in their memories!
