Our Story

Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Last Munchies with Mom at Shadowbrook

Earlier this week, we had our very last Shadowbrook Munchies with Mom. This 6th year was bittersweet. I will miss the wonderful creations the teachers and kiddos work so hard to put together for parents!
The kiddos come in and sing first. I was glad to get a picture before the other classes came in and blocked Caden.
After singing, we had a sweet luncheon and Caden enjoyed time sitting with friends. It's cute to see their interactions and how excited they are to see each other...even though they're in class together every day :-)

Love this guy!

Caden's 6th Birthday

This guy turned 6! He has been looking forward to this birthday for about 6 months, asking each day, "When is it going to be my birthday?" I'm not certain why this is the BIG one for him, but he definitely thinks it is! Caden is coming up on a lot of changes in his little life. He will be graduating from Shadowbrook in a few short days and has already registered for Big Boy Kindergarten at Ivy Creek! He can't wait to be at Ethan's school!
He had a fantastic school birthday, complete with doughnuts for his friends...his choice instead of cupcakes :-)
He decided he wanted to wear play clothes to school on his birthday because it was a special day and since I wasn't going to make him do any homework, he wanted to be able to come straight home and play outside. Dinner choice was his that night and he wanted to go to Waffle House for his birthday dinner ;-) After dinner, we came back home and sang happy birthday, then had cake with some little friends!
He had a terrific birthday day!!
That weekend, we planned a birthday bash at the bowling alley! Caden remembered how much fun he had had at Ethan's bowling party a couple of years back.
He asked to invite his whole class and a few neighborhood friends so he had a good turnout!
Ms. Connie, our party host, complete with cape, giving directions

Ethan decided he didn't need to use a ramp :-)

After bowling, it was time for pizza!
Then singing happy birthday and cupcake time!
Once cupcakes were finished, he went into the party machine to earn some extra tickets!
Then they paired up to do some Beam Busting in the Laser Maze
Followed by arcade time! What everyone had most looked forward to!
