Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Disney: Day 3

The next morning was supposed to be our day at Magic Kingdom but with a 100% chance of rain and thunderstorms we decided to wait until the next day to embark on that adventure. Instead, we decided to head over to the Wilderness Lodge to do the indoor Hidden Mickey Hunt, a perfect rainy day activity. We jumped on the bus to head over to Magic Kingdom so that the boys could ride the Tugboat-style ferry over to Wilderness Lodge. Boats were definitely a favorite mode of transportation!
We picked up our guide for the Mickey Hunt at the front desk and set out to find the hidden ears. We found Mickey in fireplace screens, rock mantles, murals, paintings, and several other places around the resort.
Breaktime! Looking for Mickey is hard work :-)
During a break in the rain, we went to the back of the resort where every hour a geyser erupts. We found another hidden Mickey there, too!
After finishing the Mickey hunt, we rode over to Animal Kingdom. The boys LOVED exploring the souvenir shop right outside of the park and Mimi let them pick out their very first Disney toy. They also got to press pennies at the souvenir penny machine. By the time we were finished, the boys were ready for lunch and naps. After naptime and getting dressed, Daddy was back from class, the rain was done for the day, and we headed over to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping. Splitsville was a fun place for dinner! We would have loved to have added a game of bowling with our meal, but with Magic Kingdom the next day, I wanted to be sure to get the boys in bed early.

After dinner, we HAD to go to the Lego store and who did we see as soon as we walked in...Woody and Buzz!!! The boys were thrilled!
Then on to the Lego room to do a little building.

Ethan was deep in concentration the whole time we were there and we had to pry him out of there when it was time to go!
 Still focused...
Love this picture! Not quite tall enough but determined to get what he wanted!
Once we finished up at the Lego store, we strolled around the rest of Downtown Disney and ended our evening with dessert from the candy shop there.
Another fun-filled day!
On to Magic Kingdom tomorrow!
