Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Visit with Santa and Miata Parade

We finally made it this weekend to visit Santa at Bass Pro Shop. This has become a tradition since Ethan was born. Unfortunately, we saw Santa last year due but didn't make it to Bass Pro due to the chaos of the move. As we walked inside there was a huge tree perfect for pictures, but the boys WOULD NOT stand still so I had to hold their hands and even then, only Caden would look. Ethan was not into picture mode yet.

Thankfully, by the time we saw Santa, Ethan was ready to pose but Caden WAS NOT into this year. Hilarious!! Ethan was also ready to talk to Santa about his requests. He's definitely getting into Christmas this year and our little elf, Skippy, is keeping an eye on him. Thus far, he really couldn't care less about Skippy's antics, though.

After talking with Santa, we headed over to the carousel so that Ethan could "ride on the animals" as he put it.

Then the boys had to check out the other "rides." Ethan was SO into it, we could hardly get him away from them! He would have stayed all night! In fact, there may have been a bribe of candy involved to get him off of them...
 Even Caden had a blast!
Look at this smile, this wasn't even the cheese smile. It was "Hey daddy, take a picture of me!"
 And this face is priceless!

Now we know how to spend an afternoon with the boys!

We got home just in time to eat dinner, then head outside to watch the Miata Parade. Ethan was so excited he started to run around in circles. The Miata Parade is just what it sounds like...a parade of little convertibles decked out in Christmas lights. How neat that they drive through the neighborhood and we don't have to go anywhere!

We are definitely in Christmas mode around here and have already made 2 trips to look at lights in some of the surrounding neighborhoods.
