Home School...not so much

On the days that Ethan does not have Weekday School, he and I try to do a short learning activity while Caden is taking his morning nap. I am really enjoying this time with him. I get to use my teacher brain and am loving getting new ideas from Pinterest and other friends (Thanks, Stacey!).

Today's activity was to identify the letters of the alphabet and glue the matching letter on top of the letter on the page. He loved using the glue and I had his undivided attention for about 4 1/2 minutes!

I am so proud of him! There were only 5 letters of the alphabet that he needed help with! When we had completed all of the letters that he knew, we took a marker and practiced tracing the letters that he did not know. For a 2 1/2 year old with a 4 minute attention span, I think 21 of 26 letters is pretty good!

A few days ago, we spent another few minutes making a fish family and talking about how Jesus fed the crowd with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Believe me, this Mommy has had quite a challenge finding really short learning activities that will keep his attention.
