Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

This, That, and the Turkey Trot

So Ben has a new obsession, actually it was a childhood hobby that has recently made a reappearance and he is doing his best to bring Ethan and Caden into the madness. With the new Star Wars coming out, Ben and the boys have gotten interested in comic books and there are several local comic book stores they like to check out. Mommy, on the other hand, is a little annoyed that my 4 and 6 year old have a fluent Star Wars vocabulary. They are a little too young for this craziness!?!?!

Caden went on his very first field trip a couple of weeks ago. He was so excited and felt like such a big boy after watching Ethan go on so many field trips with Shadowbrook. And of all places his first field trip was a visit to the train museum. He was in heaven!

I'm not sure why I didn't take more pictures but the boys had a terrific time at our church's fall festival. It was a great night of food, fun, games, and great music!
We were thrilled to see sweet friends singing on stage!

Turkey Trot

And then it was time for Shadowbrook's Turkey Trot. We were very proud to have Uncle CJ join us this year! Even though he was not too excited about running ;-)
Last year Ethan spent more time complaining about running than actually running. This year he was a champ and ran almost the whole race!
The first feather for his turkey after lap 1
But Daddy AKA Marshmallow Man, Uncle CJ, and Caden moved at a much slower pace
Ethan finished way ahead of the rest of the gang and earned all of the feathers for his turkey
Finally, the rest of the crew picked up their pace and finished the race
And everyone earned their turkey feathers!
It was a great morning for a run!
So glad that we get to do it again next year!
