Our Story

My photo
Ben and I met in 1996, began dating in 1999 and married in 2001. Now 20 years and 2 children later, we have returned to where our life together began. Ben works for the Federal Reserve and I have the privilege of staying home with our two precious boys.

Beep, Beep

I love watching Ethan at this age. He's so active and aware of everything! This is Mimi's No-No and his favorite new toy! I told my mom(Mimi) that he did not need a walker and that they were no longer considered safe for children, but we see how that turned out! If you listen closely, you can hear his Pbbbb-bbb(motor sound). He's so funny! As he was riding through the entryway, he hit the doorstop on the closet door and stopped to look at it curiously before going on his way. Now he's riding circles around the house! The quality isn't great, but it was too cute not to post.

Just Hangin' Around

Ethan's favorite thing to do in his door jumper is swing, but he's almost too big to do it because his feet drag the floor even though it's the highest it will go! He's making his Geee-Geee-Geee sound in this bottom picture. It's so cute! He ends up spluttering with drool rolling down his chin and a big grin on his face.

On the Move!

Ethan is crawling! Being the wonderful parents that we are, the remote control worked beautifully as his prize! Bribery can be a wonderful tool!

The Path to the Prize...with a cute stumble along the way.

Play Time

Ethan has a play area in almost every room of our house. This little mover and shaker knows how to make the most of what was a tidy area.

It just takes 5 minutes...

Before...toys still in the basket

After...empty basket and chomping on a book.

He's not crawling yet, but amazingly can pull himself wherever he wants to go. I can't believe how fast he is growing up and getting so mobile! Look Out World, Ethan is on the move! His sense of adventure has him constantly bumping into things regardless of how close Mommy and Daddy are. Most recently, he's doing his very best to pull himself up as I'm sure you've seen on Facebook. Daddy and I are going to have to work on that one, he always posts the pictures that I want to blog about!

Ethan is also experimenting with his voice. His grins and belly laughs are music to our ears! The latest is the earth shattering screech that he exerts so much energy creating that his face turns red and he thinks is absolutely hilarious. He has definitely mastered the snort and the motorboat, too. Not to mention, babbling about things that Mommy and Daddy can't understand and chewing on his feet.

Daddy's Big Day

Ben and Ethan spent the whole day together all by themselves today! Ben was off work for President's Day and I was not. So, I got up this morning and headed to school while the boys lounged at home. I was anticipating 57 phone calls asking "Where is this?" and "How do I do that?" but I did not get the 1st frantic phone call! I called to check in twice and they were doing great each time. Ethan had cereal, 2 naps, a bottle, lots of play time, some Praise Baby music, loads of quality time with Daddy, and even went on a trip to the grocery store. Ben managed to swiffer the floors, too!

I am so proud of them! My boys are growing up!

Yummy?!

Ethan and Lucy get along wonderfully! She will let him do anything he wants to her and she'll just wag her tail. Lately, you can find the two of them side by side. If she's not curled up right next to him, he's trying to climb over her. He is fascinated with her fur, but the other day he decided he might like to see what it tastes like, too. Priceless!

SNOW!

We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland! Of course, we had to take Ethan outside. He kept looking down and you could see his little brain thinking...hmmmm...there's something different out here, it doesn't normally look like this. Even Lucy was excited to prance around in the snow. This doesn't happen often in Texas, but it's beautiful and supposed to continue coming down all day long. So much for all of the errands that I needed to run today!
